SupportDetails.com
I found this site this morning and as I work in a technical environment where our agents need to know information about our customer’s computers I think this site could help tremendously. The site was created by Imulus.com and provides information about the customer’s PC that can then be emailed directly from the site or downloaded to a data file (PDF or CSV) for offline use. Here is a quote from Imulus.com:
We built Support Details to solve a simple, yet consistent, problem: to
simplify the process of gathering information about a client’s personal
computer.
The information gathered consists of:
- Operating System
- Screen Resolution
- Browser Window Size
- IP Address
- Javascript Enabled?
- Cookies Enabled?
- Flash Version
- Color Depth

My brother brought this site to my attention PortableApps.com. If you need programs that can run from a usb drive to help you clean a computer up or just want a browser or a virtual keyboard they have it. Some very cool apps here that can be used by all you geeks out there that are forced to work on your friends and family’s computers.
PortableApps.com is the world’s most popular portable software solution allowing you to take your favorite software with you. A fully open source and free platform, it works on any portable storage device (USB flash drive, iPod, memory card, portable hard drive, etc). With millions of users all over the world and a full collection of open source software as well as compatible freeware and commercial software and partners in the software and hardware industry, PortableApps.com is the most complete solution for life on the go.

I found this through a wordpress plugin that I installed WPtouch iPhone Theme. That’s right there is now a mobile version of FatherGarage.com. This site allows you to generate your own iPhone / iTouch icons. This is also good for website developers as it will also give you a favicon.ico file which you can place in your sites main directory and will help brand your site. You can find out more about a what a favicon is by clicking Favicon.ico. Here is the link to the tool enjoy.

Turns out Vince Offer was once a member of the Church of Scientology. He was also screwed by the Church and has made a name for himself even without their help. This is his back story not bad for an annoying salesman.

This is a trick to create a folder with shortcuts to everything you will find in the Action Center, Backup and Restore, Autorun, Desktop Gadgets, Devices and Printers. Pretty simple to do too.
